When I am in a palace or a house, I think
May all living beings
Enter the sage’s state,
And be free forever from defiled craving.

When I enter the monastery, I think
May all living beings
Proclaim all kinds of principles,
Free from error and contention.

When I see high mountains, I think
May all living beings
Have transcendent good roots
Like a summit that no one can surpass.

While walking on a road, I think
May all living beings
Walk through the purified Dharma Realm,
With minds free and unobstructed.

When I see a bridge-crossing, I think
May all living beings
Carry all across to freedom.
Just the way a bridge does.

When I see a capital city, I think
May all living beings
Gather abundant merit and virtue,
And be always joyous and happy at heart.
