When I see a city fortified with ramparts, I think
May all living beings
Gain strong and firm bodies;
Their minds unwavering and true.

When traveling on a path, I think
May all living beings
Walk the Buddha path,
Towards the Dharma of No Trace of Defilement.

When I go up a staircase, I think
May all living beings
Ascend the stairs of the Right Dharma,
And see through everything clearly

When I see a huge pillar, I think
May all living beings
Abandon egoism and contention,
And be free from rage or hatred.

When I see a thorny bush, I think
May all living beings
Quickly cut away and eradicate
The thorns of the three poisons.

When I see the luxuriant foliage of trees, I think
May all living beings
Get samadhi and liberation,
And find their shelter there.

When I see a grove of trees, I think
May all living beings
Earn the praise and respect
Of people and gods.

When I see a forest, I think
May all living beings
Become worthy of the respect and veneration
Of gods and humans.

When I see a tranquil forest, I think
May all living beings
Leave behind forever all greed and longing,
And experience no grief and terror.

When I see a bubbling spring, I think
May all living beings
Increase and grow in skillful-means,
And may their wholesome qualities be inexhaustible.
